Certified lifeguards are on duty at all times during waterpark operational hours at Maui Sands Resort.
Follow the direction provided by lifeguards at all times. According the Ohio Revised Code, not following the instructions provided from on-duty lifeguards is considered a misdemeanor offense.
Lifeguards are not permitted to talk while actively guarding the pools. Should you need assistance, please approach the managing lifeguard.
All attractions have height restrictions that guests must obey for their own safety and the safety of others.
Proper, appropriate swimwear is required while utilizing the waterpark attractions in our family-focused facility.
Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets and metal ornamentation is prohibited.
Diaper dependent guests must wear swim diapers while enjoing the waterpark attractions.
Water wings and bathing suits with built-in floatation capabilities are not permitted. Additionally, Maui Sands Resort prohibits the use of personal rafts, beach balls and foam water noodles.
Children are allowed to wear Coast Guard approved lifejackets, which are provided by Maui Sands Resort.
Running, diving, and horseplay are prohibited at all times.

Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Wristbands are required to be worn at all times while in the waterpark.
Lifeguards will give authorization to start rides, slides and attractions.
Exit immediately after completion of rides, slides and attractions.
While on tube attractions, hold onto inner tube handles at all times.
Participants on tube attractions must ride individually, unless utilizing a double tube on the Kai River, Maui Wowie or Hammerhead Plunge. Parents may not hold children in their laps.
Guests in the Kai River must remain on their inner tube for the duration of the ride.
Body slides should be ridden feet first, ankles crossed and with hands behind the head at all times. Do not sit up during the ride.
The Kaanapali Spa outdoor heated whirlpool is for adults over the age of 18 only.
Observe reasonable time limits (no more than 10 minutes) when using the Kaanapali Spa and Half Moon Lagoon heated whirlpool spas.

Guests who wish to participate on SurfRider® must sign an injury release form before riding. Release forms are available at SurfRider, Koa’s Surf Shop and in the Tiki Fun Entertainment Center. Minors under the age of 18 must also have the signature of a parent or guardian prior to experiencing SurfRider.
Any outside food or beverages is strictly prohibited in the Maui Sands Waterpark area. The Ohio Department of Public Health and State and Federal law set clear standards for public health codes that we must strongly enforce for the safety of guests and employees. Glass bottles and aluminum cans are strictly forbidden in the waterpark, as well.
Violations of the preceding policies can result in expulsion from the resort property without a refund.
