Hawaiian-Themed Indoor Waterpark Will be Second Largest in Ohio
SANDUSKY, Ohio – Say “Aloha” to the Midwest’s newest attraction – Maui Sands Indoor Waterpark Resort (www.mauisandsresort.com). This year-round Hawaiian-themed indore waterpark will bring a slice of Hawaii to the shores of Lake Erie when it opens next spring in Sandusky.
With 306 guest suites in three hotels and 55,000 square feet of tubes, waves and real-life surfing, Maui Sands Resort will be Ohio’s second largest indoor waterpark and the number one spot for family vacations in Ohio.
The Latest Waterpark Innovations
Visitors to Maui Sands Indoor Waterpark Resort should prepare! This 55,000-square-foot water playground features more than 10 state-of-the-art water attractions including daredevil slides, adventurous activity pools, and attractions for kids ages two to 92.
Maui Sands Indoor Waterpark Resort’s featured attraction is SurfRider®, North America’s first and only real-life deep-water surf machine. Unlike anything they’ve experienced before, riders can ride a boogie board or real finned surfboard on a continuous two-foot wave with a landing cushion of four-feet of water.
But a waterpark wouldn’t be fit without a mind-blowing waterslide: Maui Wowie is Maui Sands’ waterslide-turned-vortex thriller. Riders slide down a steep, dark tunnel into a huge bowl, where they take several circular spins before plunging through a corkscrew chute into the lazy river below.
Other attractions at Maui Sands Resort include: two twisted body slides, a tube slide that winds outside the facility, activity pools with basketball hoops and a creature crawl, multi-level aquatic play structure with tipping bucket, kidding pool, lazy river and two 40-person heated whirlpool spas (one inside and one outside).
Take a Break in Cabana Village
Guests can sit back and relax in one of Maui Sands’ 70 quaint cabanas. Located in Cabana Village, each cabana features two cushioned chaise lounges, television, refrigerator and full food and beverage service. Cabanas are available for half-day rentals on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fun Tiki Entertainment Center
The 6,000-square-foot Fun Tiki Entertainment Center features 75 top-of-the-line interactive redemption and video games including DanceDance Revolution, Route 66 Bowling and virtual jump rope. Birthday party packages are also available in this family entertainment center.
